SoDown Chapter 1

Congrats my friend! You’ve found the first clue, and have made it to Chapter 1 of my history in Denver.

I’m kicking off this scavenger hunt at Cervantes Otherside because this is where I played my first show EVER in 2013 (in which i wasnt even on the poster). I also played my first headlining show here in 2016!

To be real, 2016 was a tough year. At this point in my career, I had been making music for 3 years and was in total grind mode. I had just dropped out of college to focus on music full time and was basically living in a shack in my parents yard doing nothing but making music.

No one was giving me a shot to headline, but a show ended up canceling and they gave me a call… The only catch: the show was just three weeks out. Three weeks is a short amount of time to promote a show, but I wasn’t at a point where I could say no to gigs. In fact, I was determined to make the show the best it could be. I got to grinding… i was selling consignment tickets for 5 for the price of 4 and buying the 5th one myself. I was mailing tickets out (with a hand written thank you note) at an alarming rate! I was feeling the love. We sold it out beyond capacity and this marked my first headline show and my first sold out event.

It was a wild, sweaty, wonderful night that i will never forget and Cervs will always have a special place in my heart.
